![]() What happens when you press and hold the RESET Button on your Wii and turn it on ? So first, I'll address alexander1970's question list:ĭo you have a Black Screen or "No Signal" when you turn on your Wii ? I purchased this console on the cheap as a "parts box" with the seller telling me that he was getting very faint video out of it. My console seems to have a unique problem comparatively. So I guess I'll go ahead and throw my poor console onto the "Bricked Wii thread that just won't die" thread. Or if there is a simpler solution, I’m game for that too but I’m not sure the likelihood of any of this.Īt a minimum, I copied any save data I had to an SD card in case the Wii gives up the ghost for good. I’d be willing to hack it if I could figure out what’s causing it to fail like this and tay to fix it. I guess what I was wondering is if there are diagnostic tools or something that a hacked Wii could have access to. I’m not entirely sure what put it in this state of affairs beside “age”. Now the funny thing about all of this is that this is an unmodified/unhacked Wii that I got back in 2010. Black screen, controllers don’t connect, need to hold don the power button on the console. ![]() Sometimes however, if I press the home button on the remote and try to go back to the main menu, I end up in the previous paragraph. I can get to the main menu, the remote connects. Now, for the problem in the previous paragraph, there are times when I can power the Wii on and it will actually turn on like everything is normal. Only way to shut the Wii down is to hold the power button in the console. The Wii remote won’t connect no matter if I press a button on the controller or if I try to sync another way. I can insert a game and eject it but I can’t get to the health and safety screen. The light on the console is green but reset does nothing. ![]() To be specific, when it’s powered on, the screen boots black and nothing else (the signal does make it to the TV because the TV says so). Over the past day, the Wii I own has been having issues. Have you guys experienced any of this? I Would love to solve it as quick as possible so i can go back and play The Last Story.I guess this thread is as good as any since I am having problems too now. I just plugged it into another Tv and then back into my main TV and it started to work like normal. I recall maybe 5 months ago i had the same problem. I did try with the original Wii SCART cable and that worked! But the quality is not what i would want to get out of a HD console. But my TV does support 1080p and even when i try bringing it down to 720p or 480p it still doesn't give any signal. ![]() What people went back on was that the Wii U is outputting a higher resolution than what the TV can handle. Strangely no one seems to have the exact same problem. I read online and tried everything but nothing works. I also tried with the same HDMI cable plugin it into a PS4 and XBONE and also worked like normal. I tried plugin it into 3 other TVs that where in the house and didn't get the "No Signal" problem. My first thought was that the HDMI port on the Wii U was broken. I tried another HDMI cable and didn't work. But for some reason when i try to start the Wii U, the TV only says "No signal". The quality has been great and I'm very happy with it. I've played a lot of my Wii U on the Philips 40pft4100/12 Tv. ![]()
